Has anyone gotten to try one of these out next to the Element or one of the Silencerco 22 cans?

Just get a Sparrow or Spectre 2.

They're rated for 5.7/22 Mag, etc.

Cans with higher ratings are generally more durable.

Spectre 2 is going for just 300 on Silencer Shop. It's the best can out  in my eyes.

They look promising. Wish they would of went with stainless steel first instead of aluminum baffles though.

I dont care about the caliber ratings, as I already have cans that can do all of them.  What I am interested in is something thats light and quiet.  One of my favorite cans is the Outback IID. Im interested in something in that weight range thats significantly quieter.  The Sparrow and Spectre arent significantly quieter. The better construction they have comes with a weight penalty, also.  Ill settle for aluminum baffles in a heartbeat if the performance is there.

I spoke to one of the larger dealers who claimed it was not as quiet as the Element. I am looking for another 22 can, to my surprise they recommended the Axiom.

The Ryder weighs in at 3.1oz. compared to the Spectre at 6.8oz. and the Sparrow at 6.5oz. I haven't shot one yet but the overall fit and finish is very well done.  Of course that means nothing if it's not quiet.

Performance test is at 2:30 or so.

TurkeyLeg, you seem to have quite a few cans, I don't see anything that the Ryder offers more than what you already have. I'm personally done with .22 cans until someone comes out with one with 0dBs and cleans itself. Good luck.

What is the Outback rated at? I thought the Spectre averaged out at 115db?

Outback is rated for the 22LR or 17Mach2 only. GM-22 is rated for 22LR, 22WMR, 17Mach2, 17HMR, & FA 22LR.
Both are 5" long and 2.5oz, and do 37 to 39dB of reduction.

The Warlock is 3 oz and almost half the price. When compared with the stainless cans the ryder isn't that much more expensive. As long as they keep a similar price point for their stainless version I could definitely see it as a good option.

I have a hard time trusting anything these guys put out because everything they test is even lower than manufacturers claims.  That should be a red flag right there.

Indeed, the Warlock is hard to beat at that price point.  The question is whether or not the Ryder is significantly quieter than an Outback II.  I have all of the cans mentioned, except the Warlock, but not a db meter to accurately test them.

I agree. I was interested until I saw the baffles were aluminum.

My dealer got one the other day. Nifty little can.  Might scoop it up.

Thats the trade off. Aluminum baffles are light, stainless steel are heavier.  Aluminum has to be hand cleaned, stainless goes in the dip.

I dont know, slipjett.  While Im usually the first person to point out that there isnt a big sound difference between any of the more recent cans, Im always on the lookout for something new.

People like me are probably why there are so many similar cans out there now.
