Has anyone else had an issue with the QD mount for their Saker?
The locking mechanism of the MAAD mount will not engage and I can't remove the suppressor. Before firing I attached/detached the suppressor multiple times and it operated as it should. After firing 84 rounds, it is no longer operating properly, or at all. This is my second mount as the original had a different issue and was replaced by SiCo with no questions asked. I'm sure that I could just send this mount back to them and they would do the same for this one due to their fantastic customer service. I will contact them tomorrow, but I'm curious if anyone else had an issue. Due to their reputation and my lack of experience I'm thinking I'm at fault somehow, but I went step by step according to the included instructions. Any comments, including, but not limted to, how incompetent I am, would be appreciated greatly. |
| So it wont unscrew off of the mount? I had that happen once before after shooting about 100 rounds and letting it cool down, it would not unscrew no matter hard I tried. I fired 10 rounds through it to warm it up and it came right off super easy. You might try that if you haven't already. Other than that you'll have to contact SilencerCo. |

I dont think I used enough Rockset since the Trifecta FH mount torqued off when I tried twisting off the Saker after cool down. Apparently, the ratchet locking mechanism did disengage and all I had to do was pull the Saker off...but I did not know this since this was my first time shooting/removing the Saker so I applied more torque thinking that the locking mechanism was still engaged. So, the Saker did come off the host, but the Trifecta FH was also torqued off the barrel and was still in the Saker. I had to disassemble the MAAD mount and mallet the Trifecta FH off of the MAAD mount. So...what are other folks doing to get your Saker's off of the host...are you removing the Saker hot? Are you lubing the Trifecta FH/Saker contact surfaces? Other? |

Are you saying you can't turn the suppressor at all? If so, did you put some oil on the muzzle device taper section and where the can locks on before firing? Try some kroil or other penetrating oil see if it loosens up.
Take a leather glove in your shooting bag and take the can off before it cools as stated above. |
| What I've heard guys doing with brand new sakers and or mounts is that they would put the cans on halfway twist a little then untwist and pull it off then repeat several times to wear in the mount. Apparently the tolerances are pretty tight so it needs some breaking in. Maybe even some light sanding on the mount to remove some of the outer coating. Because I've seen well used saker breaks that pretty much have all the coating worn off. |
