Hiya fellas,

I am relatively new to the NFA game, but I intend to set up a trust within the next week or so and plan on making an order of three/four suppressors. I have read that the BATFE may impose more strenuous restrictions on trusts, and the possibility of being grandfathered if your paper work has been submitted beforehand is high.

I have read a large amount of topics about suppressors, now I need a few to add to the cart once the trust has created and received.

The three I am looking at:
1: Saker 762 for my 308/556 rifles
2. Octane 45 for my 45/40/9mm
3. Sparrow for my rimfires
4. Optional can here

I am not stuck on any particular brand, it is just those suppressors come highly recommended at the moment. Any help would be appreciated

What rimfire hosts? The only thing is do is swap Sparrow for Spectre II if you have any handguns or SBRs. Weight is similar. Spectre II is actually less cash.

For optional can, I'd consider a lighter weight rimfire can like the Warlock II or Element 2.

I would (and did) get the Spectre II instead of the Sparrow, but they are similar in most respects.  The 'optional' can I might get would be the Harvester for a dedicated hunting rifle mount.

Ruger 10/22 and a MKIII thus far.

Why the Spectre II over the sparrow if you do not mind me asking.

Sounds good, I went with 1-3 except Osprey 45 vs. Octane 45.   Most here will tell you the Octane is better, I'll say it depends on use.  For me the Osprey was a better fit as it will never be used on a rifle or full auto gun.  I like not having to really do any maintenance to it and the fact the serial number is only on a small part of the can on the rear portion.  Genius design that allows the Osprey to be refurbished back to 100% and quickly by Silencerco's great warranty...  Other cans if you get a baffle strike and it affects the serialized portion it is toast (something to think hard about with 41p looming).  Also the Osprey's weight is all to the rear making it seem lighter than what it is vs. other cans of similar weight.  You will also not need suppressor sights for the Osprey like you do with other cans, huge plus for me... And if the can was to somehow come loose on an Osprey because of it's shape you will notice it quickly, another huge plus over other cans.  If Silencerco designs a better baffle stack the Osprey can be upgraded as well...  Basically I wouldn't consider the Tirant because AAC is part of freedom group and has had many negative reviews of their CS or lack thereof, leaving the only other option as the Octane.  If I had a full auto MP5 I'd love an Octane, but prefer the Osprey for all the previous reasons mentioned (Osprey doesn't need to be user serviceable, no need to waste needless time on maintenance, huge amount of volume in the Osprey due to design and if it ever does need to be cleaned or refurbished Silencerco will take care of that promptly).

So there you have it, great choices but I'd change number 2, although I'll bet 90% would go Octane for whatever reason (you definitely can't go wrong with either).

First Round Pop. It can be alleviated with a squirt of gel/water/etc, but why bother with the hassle when the Spectre II doesn't need it?

With full power rifle and pistol, you're not expecting mouse-fart quiet...but with 22 that's the expectation.

Secondary reason is the ease of cleaning in a small rotary tumbler. You can clean both in ultrasonic, or the Dip, or a big tumbler...but my little 3lb tumbler holds Octane and Spectre baffles just fine.

Thank you for the comparison! I did not know that about the serialized bits on the two making one more difficult to replace if damaged. I do however plan on shooting the pistol can on pistol caliber rifles, so that was the reason I was leaning towards to Octane. I am not interested in AAC for the reasons you mentioned.

Okay! Good to know! I am looking to buy these cans and they last a life time (if no baffle strikes and such). I am looking for the buy once cry once because of the trust changes.

This. Doesn't have to be a harvester, but at least a LW thread on .30 cal suppressor.

One of my favorites is either the integral 10/22 or integral Savage Mk II from Thompson Machine.
