I already have a sdn6 and want to shoot quieter/subsonic loads. Here is what I was thinking:

Option 1
SWR Spectre II with ruger 22/45

Option 2
300blk 8" upper to use with SDN6

I'm not a fan of the AAC mounts, so the Spectre would be my choice, but since you already own a SDN6, that would be a tough decision...

If you already have an SBR stamp, I'd get the 22lr can.  While it's clearing you could work on building a 300 blackout upper.  A 22lr can is a wonderful thing.  Just about the most class 3 fun you can have.

As said above, a 22 caliber can is fun.  I still giggle like a little girl when I shoot mine on a bolt action with subs.

With the full velocity 22 you will still have the sonic crack.  With CCI Quiet I thought I had a dud until I heard the bullet impact the steel target.

What's your intended purpose? If it's just plinking, get a .22 setup. Except I'd build a dedicated upper for around the same cost as a 22/45  ($40 Anderson sport upper, $220 for a CMMG dedicated conversion kit, $100 for a CMMG 4.5" barrel with Silencerco threading, $25 for a pistol free float handguard (eg Red X Arms) and $20 for a charging handle).

The cost of subsonic 300BLK ammo sucks, especially for just casual shooting. I reload and I still cringe every time I pick up a box of 220 grain bullets. A brick of CCI SV runs $40 to $55.

Don't drag us into this.  You know you're going to end up buying both anyway.  Just buy the SWR/Ruger combo first, and by the time you get your Form 4 approved you will have saved up enough money to buy your 300blk upper.  Now shut the poll down, lock the thread, and start handing cash to your local merchant.  We're done here.

I have an SDN-6 and wanted to shoot quiet stuff, so I got an AAC .300BLK Handi Rifle. It beats an 8" upper because there's no action noise, and because it's a single shot you get to enjoy shooting without going broke.

For an even quieter combo may I suggest:

Option 3
Spectre 2 and GSG 1911 22.  PSA had them on sale recently for $199 plus $30 rebate.  The GSG 1911 has been the quietest pistol host I've shot.  Also a great value.

The high velocity stuff will be subsonic out of your 22/45. If you don't have a rimfire can, you should get one. It'll be used more than any other, once we can get some 22lr that is

Find a local (anywhere in the state) dealer that has one in-stock and give them a chance to match the total out the door price from SS or CA. ($565 for the Silencer Direct price, and CA is $497.95 + local transfer fee).

Figuring no transfer fee if it's in stock, they can usually match it and you won't have to wait for Form 3 approval. The local dealer I recently bought a Warlock II from only had to drop the price $14 to match SSD, and did it without any hesitation.

Can your "friend" not order one for you? Or do they simply handle transfers only?

I like giving SS business as well, and I've bought 4 from them...but, I also like my cans faster (and finding them in stock) and like to support local businesses as well.

With paper forms, SS isn't really going to save you any time as there will still be a Form 3 wait, and then you'll need to go to your LGS for the Form 4.  At least that's what I understood from SS when I asked, and my C3 dealer doesn't charge transfer fees, so it saved me ~$70...

No one around here has them in stock let alone offer them for under $300. But if you have a lead please feel free to share

I don't keep track of FL dealers.

SSD price $565. Knock off the $200 stamp, and you need to find if for $365 after tax. If my Google-Fu works, FL is 6%? So, you need to find a dealer will to sell one for $345 or less. It would be worth a day of calling or emailing around to save the time on the F3.

Most people Ive seen in FL only carry 1 or 2 models of  AAC and some other gypsy brand. Nothing compared to SS or any other online retailer. In fact most of them will try to say they can order it directly from the manufacturer - which we all know takes forever.

I spoke with SS today and they have about 100 spectre serial #s coming back from BATF within the next week or two.

Just shoot the CCI standard velocity 22lr. They work great in suppressed pistols.
