logic says no but I don't have hands on experience.

It really depends on your shooting habits, course of fire, etc

I just got a camo Manta from Aim for my precision rig. I'll post a review here once I've got a few rounds through it and put it through its paces.

/\ this says it pretty good without knowing more info on how you plan on using the cover and what your expecting from it.  i have 2 HMMS covers from griffon industries and they work great but i prob shoot more without them than with them installed.

Unless it's for fighting mirage, I wouldn't use a suppressor cover.

My can burned my oven mitt after about 150rds so I'm going to just say I will not be using my cover on mine while it's on my AR.

I have a TAB gear cover that I use on my SF Mini.  Works good for mirage.  I only shoot 30-40 rounds through it in 3-4 minutes at the most.  That is as hot as it gets.

For a bolt gun cover, Armageddon Gear is the way to go for sure.

I got a Bowers for running in class after I almost destroyed my brand new Arcteryx kneecaps last year on "safe and hang..."  Not sure if I'll use it but another tool in the toolbox.

I just took a carbine course last week at the Sig Sauer Academy.  I ran my AR15 suppressed up until lunchtime.  I almost bought a suppressor cover but realized during that class it would have been useless.  The barrel, gas tube and Magpul handguard were getting super hot.  I had to wear my tactical gloves so I could make it to the lunch break.  I would think a cover would just push more heat back into the rifle.

Depends.  I always run gloves for... well for pretty much everything, so handguard heat isn't an issue for me, but some designs (like the Bowers) are meant to promote cooling through convection currents unlike some that try to hold all the heat in.  The Bowers units are also FUGLY, but mission drives the gear train.

I melted my Tab on my surefire mini after one mag, but i think it was a little to small, the cordura melted where it was sewn to the lining.

I have that one too, but I haven't really gotten around to trying it out yet either.  It seems pretty nice though

I would like to try out the Manta but my can is 8.5" and they only offer a 7" sleeve

Big ones. lol well if you are just after something to grip to take off the suppressor I suppose a 7" sleeve would be fine. I am more concerned with any portion of the suppressor coming in contact with my body if I have the weapon slung and for ascetics reasons I would like the entire suppressor covered. I have a Ti Phantom and am not fond of the natural titanium color and have been told that even high temp paint doesn't hold up well.  I know the Griptastic covers come in 8.5" but I think they lack ascetics regardless of whither they cover the whole can or not. I also know these Manta covers can interconect but I do not want to incur the cost of two of them just for the extra 1.5"

Thanks
