| Hello looking for thoughts on gas system recommendations for my next build. Plan is for DMR type upper. 18" or 20" bbl. I plan on mostly running my phantom QD 308 can on it. 18" will probably have mid length system and is my preferred length. A 20" would have rifle length system. Question is on the mid length is an adjustable gas block advised? I'm guessing the rifle length system would not be too harsh on the action when suppressed. So would the extra cost be worth it on the 18" with adj block. Is and adj block advised for both or neither? This would be for 223 cal and used some for target shooting and hopefully prairie dog shoot. |
| I don't think an adjustable gas block will hurt... The only problem is that some won't hold it's setting long and you have re adjust it. I did hear some great things about the syrac ordnance adjustable gas block as there is a detent to keep the gas setting from moving. |

FWIW, I've very few requests for a rifle length gas system regulator plate for my patent pending modular adjustable gas block.
Legion Firearms has adopted my gas block and they use mid length almost exclusively.
As you can see in the picture below the regulator plates are modular and so can be swapped out for various conditions (gas systems / ammo / buffers...etc). Not enough gas? Just drill it out to where you want it. Please visit http://micromoa.com for more info.
