I looked around, although I didn't spend hours looking, for a post on the process for obtaining a suppressor. I realize it might be different from state to state but I suspect that much of the process is the same. Fill out paper work, submit, wait forever, etc etc.

Can anyone point me to a concise overview of what needs to happen in order to acquire a suppressor? For example, when you fill out the forms are the "stamps" tied to a specific suppressor or is the stamp usable for "any" suppressor? I assume you need to a stamp for each suppressor you own. Does the wait time get any better on the second or third suppressor purchase?

Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

You have to have a stamp for every NFA item.
The waiting time has no bearing on how many NFA items you've previously had approved.

The first time, the process seems a little confusing, but places like Silencershop.com make it almost too easy! Just find a good dealer and order away. My first purchase, an Octane 9, was very easy using them and a good local dealer. Pretty much the dealer hands you the paperwork, and should help walk you through what you need to do next.
