I'm in the market for a lightweight 308 can- mainly for my Savage bolt gun, but for an eventual 300 Blackout AR SBR (or possible tavor conversion kit) down the road when ammo is a little less... retarded. My question is, is this the can for me? I like the weight and feel of the can but I'd like to hear some feedback from any users here as well.

| I've got a YHM QD Titanium Phantom 308, and love it. I've shot a bolt action 308, a FN-Fal, a 6.5 grendel, and a 300Blackout with it. It seems to do a good job. Makes the supersonics sound more like a quiet unsuppressed 22lr, and the 300blk subsonics were downright giggle inducing. The action noise was actually louder than the shots. |

I have a YHM stainless can that I have had for a few years. I can't comment on the titanium can, but I think YHM makes a good can for the money. If I could have done it all over again I would have gone with something different because of the mounting system. I see a huge POI shift on my AR with the .30 cal phantom. On my .308 bolt gun its pretty minimal. I would love to try the titanium can.
Were you going to go with the QD or thread on? |

I have had my yhm ti .308 for almost 2 years (7/11 single digit serial #), it is built like a tank and has taken all sorts of abuse. I was going to get the stainless steel yhm .308 and then the
titanium one came out at the shot show just before I bought it I am glad I did the titanium is definetely the way to go for weight especially on heavier longer barrel guns. I like how easy the q/d mounts are to use and they dont cost an arm and a leg. I take it with me every day around the ranch mostly on a .308 but also on a .223 and a blackout. I have shot thousands of rounds through it and I have no complaints about it. I actually want to get another one in the future. |

I have had my yhm ti .308 for almost 3 years, it is built like a tank and has taken all sorts of abuse. I think you meant to say "almost a year and a half" considering mine has a single digit serial number and I didnt get it till 08/11 anyways, its a great can and is equally impressive (and at home) on my 20" 308 bolt or my 8" 300 blackout. it was my second yhm (have a stainless qd 5.56) and was just approved on my third yhm (titanium qd 5.56) and because threads suck without pics: http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e11/Buffdragon/SPSurbantigerstripe2.jpg http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e11/Buffdragon/300Blackout2.jpg What kind of POI shift are you seeing on the bolt gun and is it repeatable? |

Were you going to go with the QD or thread on? Definitely thread-on. I have no purpose for a QD set up, and I don't want to fiddle with the multiple mount purchasing. I can't get over how stinkin' LIGHT this can feels in the hand, and I'm eager to see how it feels hanging off the end of my SBR barrel. Good to read through these replies and see all of the positive feedback (and badass pics, btw). |
