I can run this on my sbr, but I got this can because I was interested in a large cal suppressed gun.  But im torn

SCAR 17, cut down, and SBR
AAC 9" 300 blackout upper (already have a sbr lower)
6.8" upper (sbr length)

I would love an ACR w/ a 6.8 and 300blk kit

My situation is as follows

I have lots of .308, but its getting more and more expensive to replace.  Not getting a new round would be great, but replacing it is not getting cheaper, but even when expensive is still cheaper than .300 blk (unless you reload, which I am not set up to do, and dont even know where to start.  I have lots of .223 brass so if I did get into reloading it would be a start.  I am interested in the 6.8 for ballistics out of something like a 9-12.5" barrel.  Possibly a Long range style 308 semi auto.  I am comfortable w/ using the ar platform, but not sure what I want.

Give me some feedback.

Great thing about the .30 cal QD is that you can use it for any host that fires anything under .30.

I have a 12.5" SBR (5.56), a 9" 300BLK upper, a separate 18" "SPRish rifle, and a PTR32 PDW (8.75" HK clone pistol in 7.62x39) and I can use the suppressor on any of them (no mount for the PTR yet...). I often switch hosts at the range.

IYAM, it depends on what ammo you have the most of and start from there. JMO.  I LOVE the SCAR17 platform, but I don't love the cost of the ammo, so I stay away. I don't like the neutered version of the ACR that Bushmaster put out.   If they had released the ACR, then some different .cal barrels and bolts, I'd have been all over that. Too late tho. I guess I'm saying pick the platform you'd love best (ACR, it looks like) and run with it.  Heck, SBR that sucker and use the QC function to change barrel lengths at will.

I already have a 10.5" w/ a yhm can, HK mp5k and .40 w/ raptor .40 can.

for 308, I have a 16" DSA SA58 fal, and a G3k sbr clone I could run them on, but I have FSC brakes on them right now that are rockset on, and have been a PITA to get timed and secured, as they have a tendency to break loose w/ concusssion to the point it drives me crazy, and dont want to take them off, but if it keeps up, im either red locktighting them on there or something because buying and using crush washers, peel washers, wrenches, locktight,  etc, I have had them work loose under recoil, reworked them, so gonna see if they hold this time.

I can tell you what I'm doing with mine when it clears, .300 Blackout upper & a .308 bolt gun.

I bought an SDN6 to use with my 300blk SBR upper.  I would love to get a Scar 17 as well.  I got into reloading about 6 months back and its already saved quite a bit on ammo (although not quite at the break even point yet as startup costs were pretty high with all Dillon stuff).  Pretty much all the calibers you listed are going to be expensive to keep buying factory ammo.  Is there anything keeping you from getting into reloading?  I think I like reloading now about as much as the actual shooting

Only thing preventing reloading is time.  I work a full time job and have a start up gun company, so I am working 70 hour weeks, but have been making it to the range more.

I really am torn which direction to go.  Most all of my 12k of 308 is non-reloadable, I have lots of 5.56 brass, I have ZERO components, and I would have to learn to reload.  Its like brewing my own beer, I enjoy doing it, love the final product, but I dont have alot of time to do it.  Sigh.

How much would I need to spend to get started in reloading (equipment only, not including any components)?

There are a few threads that have startup costs and different equipment choices.  I just figured I would get all good stuff from the beginning.  I probably spent around $3,000 in reloading equipment.  Thats everything from building a workbench to the press and dies.  I did get the stainless steel tumbling media instead of going with the Dillon stuff but thats just because I liked all the "Bling" pictures I saw on the forums, lol.
