I have the 9” AAC 300 Blackout upper and I want to change out the flash hider for the brake mount. In looking things over, it looks like you have to remove the barrel nut to get the rail off. Without taking the rail off there is no way to get the barrel in a vise. I don’t think I’m comfortable doing this work myself. Is there anyone here with experience working on this particular upper? Am I wrong about how to remove the rail? I bought the AAC flash hider tool after reading about how hard they are to remove, and I also have the brake and an extra set of shims ready to go.
I have a 762-SDN-6 that should be approved next month. I don’t want any problems with the can, so I want to be sure the mount is good to go. I contacted AAC and they said they don’t do this kind of work, and recommended gun gallery in Jacksonville. Can anyone comment on their work? Would you recommend anyone else? Thanks for the help. |
