Last week my son shot his HK MP5 with his Trident 9 suppressor. We cannot remove the 3 lug adapter from the suppressor. How can we get this adapter off?

I read a post last week in here that someone cleaned their suppressor with mineral spirits. Do you thick if I put the end of the suppressor in mineral spirits that may help break the adapter loose from the suppressor?

Your advise will Greatly Be Appreciated!

Yeah it's important to clean your 3-lug adapter after each use. I found mine hard to remove and take apart if I don't. When it was hard to remove mine i soaked it in CLP for a while. I used some rubber help grip and remove the three lug adapter from the suppressor. Then I took the adapter and placed it over the lugs on my Mp5 and used a allen wrench to put in on of the holes in the side, then i was able to take apart the 3-lug adapter to clean. You don't want to actually lock the adapter onto the lugs, you want to use the lugs to hold the adapter in place while you unscrew it. I hope this makes sense.

I bought a Martin pin spanner for mine, based off of SWR's reply to the same question on a different forum. I believe it is a 7/32" pin diameter, locks into the holes on the adapter and works every time. I also use anti seize on the threads of my Trident adapters so they don't freeze up as bad. Bought the spanner online from MSC Industrial Supply Co. Good luck.

I would try soaking the bottom part of the can and threads in WD 40 for 24 hours.

If that doesn't work, you may want to heat the can.   Basically this is like popping the end off a YHM Mite.  The same tips will apply.  My brothers cap is also stuck on, but he only uses it on his 9mm AR so it's not a problem.  This is the one drawback of modular cans- the ends don't come apart conveniently.

I sent SWR a request for the correct size of the Martin pin spanner wrench. I will post their answer.

Thank You!

The tool arrived and the adapter was removed. This spanner wrench is a must buy for the Trident 9. I did put some electrical tape around the tool to prevent scratching.

Now I need to purchase the correct ant-seize.

Thanks!
