I need to ship a suppressor back to the manf for some work.
Do i need to do anything different from shipping a normal gun via usps? I will include a copy of my form4. |

Copy of the Form 4.
Letter of intent: Include destination name/address, return name/address, contents & serial # listed, work requested. I usually send it UPS from the hub near the airport. Registered/insured/delivery confirm/signature receipt. Always insure for 150% the MSRP to cover all costs of replacement. This is what I was told by several manufacturers. A few years ago I read on the ATF website about Form 4/letter of intent. The rest seemed like common sense for CYA. ETA: Declare as "machine parts." It's not a lie, and doesn't stand out to sticky fingers like "firearms suppressor/silencer." |

I shipped "registered"....which travels under lock and key, and is an authorized way to ship up to "secret" level documents. Insured for replacement cost plus stamp. Good enough for me, but I was still nervous!! ~WTS What did that whole shipping cost? Sounds pretty safe and no matter what way I shipped it, it would be insured. Never had to do it so that's why I ask about the cost. Thanks |

YHM shipped it back via UPS signature required. ~WTS |
