Does anyone know of a suppressor that will work with a 22" .30-06 Springfield loaded pretty hot?
EDIT: I would really like for it to have a QD function, and the ability to work with several other smaller calibers such as 5.56, 6.8, .300blk, etc. |

I would look at the Yankee Hill QD one. However it will NOT be quiet.

nothing will be quiet on a 30-06, especially one loaded "hot"

But will it be hearing safe. . I don't think so. A unsuppressed 22lr is not hearing safe so I would not think that this would be either. I personally find 5.56 and 7.62 super sonic rounds still uncomfortably loud out of a suppressor but that is just me. do you know of any hearing safe .30 cal suppressor that can handle .30-06? maybe a .300WM suppressor? |

It will never be quieter than an unsuppressed 22lr. The only way to make it quieter would be to load the rounds slow enough to not break the sound barrier. |

Quoted: Surefire fa762k, thundrbeast 30p-1? Sandstorm? Shark? Aac 762sd? Fixed that for ya. On the TBAC, you would be looking for the 30BA. When most people talk "hearing safe" they use a subjective measurement that is hearing safe to them. The OSHA Occupational Noise Exposure states: Exposure to impulsive or impact noise should not exceed 140 dB peak sound pressure level. If the variations in noise level involve maxima at intervals of 1 second or less, it is to be considered continuous. So, gunfire is impulsive or impact noise. Anything over 140dB is considered detrimental to your hearing and a hearing conservation program is required to be instituted (OSHA deals with the workplace). A think that a bolt action .30-06 is going to be in this range and you would be surprised how "quiet" it actually is. I don't have a problem running my .30cal bolt guns for a long period of time sans hearing protection, but that is on my subjective scale. |
