Looking to get a 9mm suppressor and I've been seriously considering the Thompson Machine ISIS. The things I like about it are: its user serviceable, its size/weight, and its price. My main concern about it is it durability. I haven't heard anything bad about it. I just wonder since it is an all aluminum can. Another can I've been looking at is the Liberty Mystic. It however weights and costs twice as much, though I don't have any durability concerns with it. Does anybody have any experience with either of these cans they could share?
Whatever I end up getting will mostly get used on a 9mm carbine, though I would like to put it on one of my 9mm handguns as well sometime down the road. If you think I should go with something else I would consider other cans if there is good reason, though these two are currently at the top of my list. |

I'd buy the ISIS if you ever do wear it out someone will rebuild it better than ever, but use liberty's disconnect devices they are quieter than the gemtech ones. The thought that I could have the ISIS rebuilt never occurred to me. That definitely sways me more towards the ISIS. |
| In my opinion you are almost comparing apples to oranges in a way. The Mystic is a multiple caliber workhorse and is overbuilt. It is not all Al. Never shot an Isis, but have shot the Mystic. It is the next suppressor I will buy, I was so impressed I almost bought it vs the Kodiak TL I was there to demo shoot, but then thought "i'll get both when I can afford another one", and I don't even own a gun in 9mm. Its suppression numbers are some of the best and I can use it on a bunch more than just 9mm and .22, Can the Isis be used on full power 223 out of a 16 inch barrel? The Mystic can. If you just want a 9mm can take a look at Liberties new 9mm can (can't think of the name of it right now). Just my humble opinion. |

Yours is probably different than mine. I look at the purchase of a suppressor as a lifetime thing and I want to get the best (to me) I can at the time. Yes, the Liberty is heavier and more costly, but look at the materials/construction/Db numbers vs the Isis. I've been saving for a Mystic for over a year and still have some to go, but to me in the end it'll be worth it. If I were to want something less versitile only for 9mm etc I would still look real hard at the Liberty Infiniti. They are good folks to boot and customer service is second to none. When I went to demo a TL at Libertys shop in Ga I was running late by about 30-45 minutes (my fault), but it didn't bother them at all that I was cutting into "work" time. Dave drug out several other platforms for me to try other than just the ones that are similar to what I have and like I said earlier brought out the Mystic just for fun. We shot it almost as much as I shot the TL. Dave even offered to take me and my family to lunch to get to know us better and shoot the breeze. Personal attention like that is hard to come by any more and is part of what sold me on Liberty. Not to mention that they make really good suppressors. |

I have had my ISIS for 4 months but have yet had time to even try it out. Construction, fit and finish look great and I really like how light it is especially for pistol use. It is full auto rated in 9mm and will be mostly used on my M11/9. TM told me if I wear out the core they will replace at cost, so I would think $50 at most for a new core. Or have Liberty put in a SS core.
I also have a TM Zephyr XL, which IMO works very well on my sig mosquito, 10/22 and SMG M11/22lr conversion. |
