Is anyone running one of these? If so experiences, comments, thoughts? Pics would be great too!! Also how do you like the AAC SPR M4 brake/FH? I just ordered the brake |
| The can is very good. It brings the noise down a lot. Only problem I've found is excessive blowback even on my Noveske switchblock uppers and even on my SCAR. I have a MINI-4 and I like it better. Shorter lighter just a little louder but it does cut down the noise quite a bit. Because of its small volume it barely has any blowback. I will be buying another MINI-4. The SPR-M4 is going on my remy 700. |

The SPR-M4 is going on my remy 700. compared to the spr/m4 It doesn't have as much sound reduction either My spr/m4 is great, on both a 18" rifle and a16", one with and one without a gas buster charging handle. I've never noticed the blowback to be excessive. Now my friend, who shoots left handed, cried about it but happily kept wasting my ammo. Sorry I don't have any pics. |

Guys this is one sexy setup, man!! I hear nothing but good things about the SPR M4. I also hear its one of the quietest 5.56 cans available. That MRP upper with the suppressor attached is outstanding!!!
I have all the parts for this build inbound as we speak, here's the specs- •KAC SR15E3 complete ambi lower with FDE SOPMOD KIT •Vltor MUR1A •Daniel Defense RIS 2 M4A1 •Noveske 16" N4 barrel •BCM Gunfighter Mod 4 •Youngs NM BCG •Troy BUIS in FDE •Trijicon ACOG TA31RCO •Trijicon RMR Can't wait to get her built! Keep the pics and expietiences coming guys! |
| I thought that blowback was a function of back pressure in the silencer sending powder/carbon back into the action. As such reflex model silencers (often) having more internal volume allow them to contain more of the powder/carbon and as such keep more out to the action? How is there less blowback on a Mini-4 than an SPR-M4? |

How is there less blowback on a Mini-4 than an SPR-M4? That's what I thought when I bought the spr-m4. I think the mini's less volume means less trapped gas that goes back through the barrel because more of the pressure goes out the front. Just look at major malfunctions suppressor tests and you will see the mini4 is quieter at the shooters ear than the spr-m4. 5.56 suppressor test |

Mine is dang quiet and I get 0 gas in the face with a gunfighter charging handle and Noveske switch block. There isn't a whole lot of difference sound wise with the switch block on the single shot setting, so I usually just fire it semi auto. I have the same exact setup. My barrel is 12.5". Weird how we have different experiences. I'm running slip2000 lube what do you use. I'm wondering if slip is Mabey burning off causing the problem. I try to keep it lubed but dry. The same upper with the mini has way less gas face. |

That SCAR is awesome!!!!!! You guys are the best I really appreciate these pics any close ups of the brake? |
|
Thank you sir. I guess it boils down to how you are going to use the suppressor. If you are going to be shooting for accuracy from a bipod or bench then the spr-m4 is a great suppressor. If you will be on the move or off hand shooting I recommend a shorter lighter suppressor. That's why I have both.
As far as the brake mount goes I broke mine using it on my 12.5" Noveske. I was running it pretty hard and at the end of the day I took the suppressor off 2 pieces of the brake broke off and fell out of my suppressor. It couldn't handle the heat and blast from my SBR. I'm sure it will be fine on a 14.5" + barrel though. SBR's are hard on brakes and Suppressors. |

I don't fire that rapidly though, 1 shot every 3 or 4 seconds looking through a scope, off of a bi-pod. |

No I didn't want it to happen again and Mabey take out some baffles. They said they couldn't find anything wrong with it I know it wasn't a bullet that hit it. It broke near the thick base and two prongs were still on the tip. I sent the 3 that I had back for credit and got a prodigy. |
