Hi Im want to get the paper work going for a suppressor.  I want a 22 and 9mm one,  not sure what i want first.   I have read there is nothing but positive reviews for a SS sparrow for the 22, so i think im going to go with that.

But what about a a 9mm?  I have a 9mm sbr ar15,  but would like to add maybe a Beretta 9mm some day.  what would be a good can for those?

thanks
Jay

I have a Gemtech Multmount with rear mounts for both a 9mm AR (3-lug) and pistols (1/2-28 threaded) that works really well.  It also sounds pretty good on .22lr guns threaded 1/2-28, although probably not as quiet as a dedicated .22lr can.

You could get a Liberty Mystic.  They are rated for everything from 9mm down to 22LR, including .223, and are a take-apart can so you can clean the rimfire nastiness out if need be.

Check out the SWR Octane 9HD Very good can for the SBR, comes apart for cleaning.

I just bought a SS Sparrow and waiting on paperwork and have the Gemtech Multimount. I like the MM a lot but mine will not function on my 92 without the LID even with different ammos and trying to tune the springs. Just know that if you are thinking of using it on a 92 it may or may not work without the LID

I have a MultiMount (which I love) and if I were to get another 9mm can, it would probably be the SWR Octane HD. Maybe a 9mm Tirant, if they are user serviceable.

but the new 2012 MultiMounts are now user serviceable and have a titanium blast baffle. So you can clean them now too.

And I have a SS Sparrow and I love it! So if you chose that for a .22lr, then you did great.

ok thanks,  So i think im sold on the gemtech multimount.  But im a little confused in how all the different  mounts work, or what one i should get?    my ar15 is has a 8 in barrel, with 1/2 x 28 threads.   even though i said id like it work on a pistol im more concerned about it working on my ar15,  ill get a different mount for the pistol when i get that.

thanks

The Multimount will work on the 9mm AR barrel with just the thread mount if the barrel is threaded at 1/2x28tpi.  On my 9mm AR, I use a 3lug mount on the end of the barrel and the 3 lug mount for the suppressor.  I only do this because I end up taking it off/on alot.  Since the Multimount is now user serviceable it can also be used on your .22 hosts by using the 1/2x28tpi mount and having your hosts threaded.  It will be a little bit big, but it will cut the sound almost as well as a dedicated 22 can.

So, get the threaded mount for the multimount if you want to use it on a threaded 1/2x28tpi barrel.  If you want to go 3 lug, get the 3 lug adapter, and if you plan on using it on a pistol, get the LID mount.  Eventually you will likely get all 3 anyway as your addiction grows.

For use on the 1/2-28 AR  barrel you could do one of two things:

1/2-28 threaded mount

OR

1/2-28 threaded LID + piston blocking tube
(The piston blocking tube replaces the spring in the LID, making it a fixed spacer, safe to use on a fixed barrel. You would put the spring back in for use on a pistol with a tilting/reciprocating barrel)

Edit to add:

The 3 lug mount is a good option on the AR barrel as well; that's what I have.  The options above are if you want to just leave it threaded.
