Anyone know what these were going for before SF decided to quit making them?  SGCUSA is the only place I see it in stock at $1800+.  Sounds like a markup due to availability but I'm not sure.  One could buy both dedicated ops12th .22 and dedicated 12th .30 for the same price.

What makes you think that the 762SS is discontinued? It's still listed on Surefires website, and I've heard no such thing.

I heard this straight from surefire as well as some of their vendors.  They will be discontinuing this model as well as the FA556AR.  One of those vendors told me they will be coming out with a new overlap suppressor that adds only 1 inch to OAL.  Surefire however told me that there is not enough demand for overlap suppressors and they will add to there line of end mount suppressors.  Not sure which is true, however the general consensus is that they will be dropping the FA762SS as well as the FA556AR.

Didn't they JUST get a military contract for them?!

There was some talk about droping the FA556AR, but Surefire received alot of feedback saying that they should keep it.  So they are NOT droping it.  They are not droping or have considered droping the FA762SS.

You can still get the 762SS as far as I know. I have had one ordered since May that is currently being transferred to my dealer.

Nightforce still produces the 2.5-10X24 for mil contracts.  Try to go buy one as a civilian.  I'll try to find the email.  It clearly stated that they will be dropping all overlap mounting style suppressors, that includes the 762SS.  Maybe they did change their mind since then.  It would have had to of been fairly recent. It was sometime towards the end of September when they told me they were dropping these models.  I was asking them if they could make me up an MB762SS mount with 1/2/28 threads.

That's a pretty long time for a form 1 transfer.  None of my form 3s took that long.  Hope it gets there soon for ya.

Well it's just now in the transfer stage. From may until mid november, I was waiting on the actual suppressor to be made by surefire.

I talked to Garin today and they are still making both suppressors.

The FA762SS was never considered for being discontinued. We did look at dropping the FA556AR and the FA68AR from the 2011 line up but customers and dealers let us know not to drop the FA556AR. We did drop the FA68AR suppressor.

OK so what about the mounts.  I have read on these forums that the FA762SS will not fit an MB556AR mount. Someone even quoted an email from SF that stated it would not work.   I received an email from SF saying that it will work.  Which is it?

Supposedly they were releasing a new FA762SS adapter threaded in 1/2-28 for this explicit purpose. They used to say yes to the FA762SS on a FA556AR mount, but later recanted that after some problems surfaces.
