Retirement is rapidly approaching and we will be moving to a suppressor friendly state.  I have a LaRue OBR762 with the Surefire Muzzlebrake attachment MB762SSAL/RE  I also own an AR15.  I know from researching this forum that a 7.62 suppressor will work pretty well with the 5.56.  I also know I am very pleased with all of the Surefire products I own, so am considering purchasing a FA762SS suppressor once the relocation is complete.  What I need to verify is that the MB556AR for the AR 15 also mates up properly to the FA762SS.  If it does fit, this adapter can be purchased and installed before the move.

While it will attach, I believe Garin has recommended against using it this way. The K can/mounts are compatible if you want to use the 762 on a 556.

I will test the compatablity of the new FA762SS Gen 3 suppressors with the MB556AR adapter. Since the new suppressors do not use the engagement teeth on the adapter I belive it will lock up tight. On the FA762SS Gen 2 suppressors they would be under timed on that adapter. That caused them to run out of enegament teeth on the adpater thus the suppressor would not be tight on the adapter. Again I will check with some timing gauges.

I did check with timing gauges and it did lock up tight but was close to being under timed. I can not say it will work 100% of the time as the timing gauge only had 1/8" of engagment teeth left before the latch ran out.

Kudu22:  Thank you for your efforts in researching this, you have been very informative.  May I contact you off site to pursue a possibility?

Did you guys ever add a MB762SSAL/RE threaded 1/2x28 to the catalog? I remember at one point mention of it.
