Hi,
With the help of my dealer, I just installed a brakeout on a scar 17. We did not need the shims to get proper alignment and we got it on very tight. He said we did not have to use the rocksett that came with it or any loctite. Have any of you done this? What are your thoughts? My stamp should be coming in any day now..... |
| You may run in to one problem without the rocksett. As you shoot and carbon builds up in the spaces between the brakeout and the suppressor, it sort of bonds the two together. If it gets tight enough, you can unscrew your brakeout as you attempt to uscrew your suppressor. Happened to me as I didn't get the threads clean enough the first time I installed it. Did the installation again with new rocksett and it works great now. I even had to put the suppressor in a vise at one point to start unscrewing it and the rocksett held tight. |

That makes a lot of sense. I think my dealer was tired of me by that point.
I really should no better––I had that same issue with my walther p22––taking the can off took the thread adapter off. It was just such a bitch to get the old brake off and this one on. I will loosen it up tonight without removing it completely and apply this rocksett. Thanks! |

Did not need shims as in with no washers at all the brake lined up perfect? Hope they didn't install it with a crush washer. I use blue loctite with all my suppressor mounts and never had a problem. |
