Ok, I'm very much a newbie at this so please bear with me.  I have searched and searched and cannot find any definitive answers.

Can I get a 9mm, .40, and .45acp barrel cut in 14.5x1 left hand metric thread? (or) What is the most adaptable thread pattern to get for a can?  (Looking to suppress Glocks, Sigs, XDs, maybe Rugers)

I am buying a .45 can and want to consolidate threads as much as possible to save time and money on adapters for the can.  I already know I have to buy all new barrels, but I want to do it as cost effectively as possible.  This subject just doesn't seem to be discussed very much and I know the veteran suppressor guys have it figured out.

Thanks for any insight you can provide....

Either way, you are going to have to get different pistons for the different calibers, so you might as well get the barrels threaded for the appropriate thread pitch because finding a piston for a non standard thread pitch is a PITA!

Out of all of the money that you are trying to save, you are attempting to scrimp on the cheapest part, the piston.  Do some searching and find the best prices on all of the items that you are looking for.  That is where you will save money.

Thanks for the input.  I never really though about the different calibers requiring a different piston anyway. Guess it doesn't matter then.

It's not that I was just trying to be cheap, it just seemed like it would be really convenient to just screw my 45 can on my .40 or 9mm without having to take it apart first and keep track of which piston goes to which gun.

I've decided to start with .578" x 28 tpi for a 45 can.  I can order 1911 and XD barrels with that pitch on them.  I'll worry about other calibers later.

The best way to go about it may be to buy a 45cal suppressor and then thread all hosts to that can's thread pitch.

No reason to do that - each piston will be different threads, so why thread the barrels one thread pitch when you can't get the pistons in that thread pitch.....?
