Can you have a non-FFL 07 or 10 machine shop build the baffles for a Form 1 if you complete the job by either you or someone else constructing the tube and end caps.  I ask as some of these baffle designs above would have to be made with a water jet or EDM and all of the suppressor manufacturers around these parts only have a lathe and mill type setup.  As in no one ever has all the pieces expect you?  If this doesn't work, is there a legal way for a FFL 07 or 10 to have a component done elsewhere and they finish it?

ATF says you must be their and take all parts when you go... Unless you have a trust and name them in the trust while work is being done

Once suppressor is done you could remove them from your trust

YOU ORE YOUR TRUST MUST BE IN CONTROLL OF YOUR ITEMS AT ALL TIMES

That's actually somewhat feasible as it wouldn't take all day to cut some of these mono baffles.

Hmmm interesting knew Tenn and MT had passed those laws but was unaware of the others

I think the best answer is to be there while the work is being done, and take it with you unfinished if it isn't to finish it next time.

Example: cut, thread, engrave tube one day, baffles another

I've had several peaple ask me about doing a form 1 suppressor .. So I've thought what if they just add some one to their trust that can do the work for them
Then after words just remove them from the trust ? Should be very easy

What's wrong with ONLY having them make the baffles for you then on a different day while you're there have them cut, thread, and engrave the tube? The baffles alone are nothing more than a piece of odd looking metal, no?

I've thought about this too and would love to make my own suppressor one day but know I'd have to have most of the work subcontracted.

The ATF considers silencer parts i.e. baffles, to be silencers. This is why you don't see bafflesfor sale in "kits" to make form 1 cans.

The funny part of all of  this is I have seen some pneumatic control manifolds at work that with a hole drilled all the way thru them you would be looking at a mini suppressor just not a very good one. though.........

I kind of thought as much, for the same reason, no kits out there. Thanks.

This is what I was thinking. There are plenty of parts out there unrelated to firearms that with little to no modification could be baffles. So how can the ATF say that your pieces of metal are baffles if you have no tube, threads/mount, or end caps to construct the can. I guess it comes down to intent. Oh well.

no it just comes down to what the ATF sees fit to regulate.
