I'm about to head to the fun shop to put in an order for my first suppressor

I've decided on the Gemtech g5

This will be used mainly on a Smith & Wesson M&P15X and some Rock River tactical elites

I've got a few questions:

can I install the QD mounts myself?

how will IMI 193 and M855 sound in this thing

and what is the coolest QD mount

The G5 was my first as well.

1 - Yes, installing the QD mount is easy with the supplied shims.  Just follow the instructions on the package.

2 - 5.56 ammo will sound about like unsuppressed 22 lr.

3 - I like the Smith Vortex bi-lock mount.

4 - CONGRATS!!!

Great choice. I use the G5 on my M&P 15 and my POF SBR. Great suppressor

I installed the mount myself. Like the previous poster said just follow the directions.

I also use the Vortex mount.

It's been almost 2 months since the ATF cashed my check for the exact same suppressor with the vortex mount.  I can't wait.

You will love.  I run mine on three piston guns...... 11.5" and 16" ARs, and an ACR.  Great suppressor and quiet for what your shooting through it.
