After hearing about so many people getting their paperwork back in 60 days recently, including some transfers my dealer has done, I called the ATF. They told me that my info won't even show up in their system until the end of September, which would be 90 days out. Is that common? I thought after 30 days they'd be able to tell you something.

Im guessing they told you sept to keep you from bugging them for atleast a month or so. Patience, youll get it when you get it. If there is a problem they will let you know. |

That was the primary reason I called, to make sure that everything was OK, but I guess they haven't even looked at it. I suppose it's my fault for letting myself get excited at the idea of "only a few more weeks!".

I think the norm is after you see your check has been cashed, call like 2-3 weeks later and see that its pending. Then after about 4-8 weeks (normally) it is approved.
Now some examiners seem to approved like 1 a day, and take like 100 days for it to get approved. You'll see some guys on the boards talk about this. Pretty aggravating. |

Just got the call from my dealer, paperwork is in. Mailed it off on June 10th, check cashed on June 18th, approved Aug. 20, and arrived today Aug 27. All right, you people make me sick!! I"ve been waiting for Schnook for 16 weeks today! went pending in two or three weeks, but now it's been four months and it's still not approved! I'm going to have to find a nother dealer just to get away from her! Doug k |

Did you talk to "the guy"? Don't listen to him. He gave me that crap too & 2 weeks later it was in my mailbox He is a piece of work, told me to call back in 60 days, something like 4 days after speaking with him it was approved. He just doesn't like answering the phone! |

Did you talk to "the guy"? Don't listen to him. He gave me that crap too & 2 weeks later it was in my mailbox +1. That guy is a smarta$$ and a moron. I called to check the status after about seven weeks and he said "siiiiiiiiiiiiigh, that went pending Monday, and before you ask, yes that's normal" (it was Wednesday when I called). He then proceded to lecture me about using a money order and how it's easier "for everyone" if I paid by check. The very next day, Thursday, my dealer called telling me he just received the form 4 back approved. That said, everyone else I've dealt with there is top notch and very friendly. |
