I submitted the paperwork on my AAC tyrant 45 on june 17th and its now 68 days later and Im still waiting... This sucks...

UPDATE:

After having a shitty start to my friday morning (flat tire) I got a phone call from the local fun shop to stop on by when I got off work. I figured it had to do with an upper I purchased but when I arrived I found out my paperwork had come back and the suppressor was MINE! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Pics on page 2.

I was going to say, 68? That's nothing!

I have noticed several people getting theirs around 60 recently. Hopefully mine will go that fast as well. I'm only 30 days in.

110 days for me. Just picked up my new can today. It was mailed 5/23, approved 8/16, and my dealer got the papers on 8/21. The wait sucks, but it's worth it.

I'm a month plus for 2 cans. What sucks for me, I have a Surefire 556 can ordered thru Surefire, they are in production and said they will ship in about 4 weeks. I wish I could get that one asap!

We got Form 4s back from ATF last week that were submitted in FEBRUARY.

If you don't have patience, the NFA world is no place to be.

My very first Form 4 was at dealer the 23'd and was 141 days mailbox to mailbox...the second is at 119 days today.
I have Flanigan and its believed she is training Dana Pickles and thats why she got so slow...used to be one of the faster ones.
Some are getting approved faster...luck of the draw i guess.Waiting doe's suck but go have fun day really makes it worth it.

Wanna know the real kick in the nuts???

I dropped two envelopes in the mail in mid February.  One contained four Form 4s for my business partner.  The other had four for me.  His crap came back in 6 weeks.  Mine just got here last Thursday.

All transfers were to Trusts.

Two of the transfers for us both were for the same make & model suppressors.

All transfers were from the same company (ours).

All transfers were approved by the same examiner.

Both Trusts had previously gotten Forms approved to them.

Checks were all cashed same day.

Everything went pending same day.

Go freaking figure.

Wait, it gets even better!!!

I just got back four transfers for one guy with an error status stating his Trust didn't clearly specify the state that would govern the Trust.  It DOES clearly indicate GEORGIA all over the damn Trust.  ANd this same customer has had over a DOZEN transfers in the past two years to the same Trust!!!!

WTF?????????????

I have given up trying to make any sense of this silly world and am SO glad I will participate in the suppressor world mainly as a user from this point forward.  The nightmares of dealing in this business are simply too great.

Submit your forms and just be patient.  Don't keep bugging your dealer with "Is it there yet?" questions that only drag him away from helping other customers.  TRUST me, the dealer wants the forms approved and to you even more badly than you want your toy.

When I think of the ATF and their approval times, I always imagine the examiner reaching into a cage with form 4s flying all over the place. Like that game you see on TV shows were people are trying to grab as much money as possible in a minute but with form 4 in this case.  But seriously, it just doesn't make any sense to see some people get their form 4s back in a week then you have others waiting over 6 months.

Waiting for my first can.  Check cashed on May 17th, went pending June 9th and still nothing.  I try to forget about it otherwise it would drive me crazy waiting for it.  It probably takes 15 minutes to approve but I think they make people wait so you get frustrated and stop buying them.

Just called and my AAC M4-2k forms just got approved on August 20th......mailed out on 6/10, check was cashed on 6/18.  Now I'm waiting for the dealer to get em.  WOOOOHOOOOO!

edit: dealer got it on 6/28.  Picked mine up already
Was approved by Dana Pinkles(something like that)

I have called twice now since May to check in on the status.  Should I stop?  Will they get pissed if I check in once a month?  Is it okay to ask if anything is missing that I can help with or should I just chill the "bleep" out?

It won't hurt or help to keep calling. If it makes you feel better, then continue to call. For me, calling only makes the wait seem longer so I just send it in and forget about it for a few months.

If there is something wrong or missing, they will notify you/your dealer. They won't know something is missing until they attempt to approve your forms so, again, calling doesn't help. If something does need correcting, the process is very quick once you send it the necessary corrections.

The best advice is just to forget about it and work on other projects.

Thanks for the advice!  I just have to chill.  Frustrating to hear that some people get their forms back in 30 days others take 6-9 months.

Yes, it is frustrating.  I just recieved my third stamp on Monday, after 16 weeks pending. Went pending really quick, but after that the wait just sucked!  I've got another one to mail out as soon as I can go get CLEO signoff and fingerprinted, but it's another .22 can.  This one is full auto rated so it'll be cool, but I've already got a Gemtech OutBack II to play with in semi-mode!  My best advice is to mail it, give it a month or so and call to make sure it's in the system and try your best to forget it!  I can't do it, but it's the best thing to do!!

After my first set of Forms 4's went to about 120 days i called every friday for updates. The first got approved on day 135 and arrived 140.
My second suppressor is at 126 today and still waiting but i still call every friday....
The funny thing is i ordered the second suppressor 3 weeks before the first one but the dealers Form 3 got lost and had to be
resubmitted...i never bugged him about it until 60 days had passed...so he calls to find out they never got it.

Called today to check. My F1 sbr has been pending since 5/20, and it still is. Flanagan has that one. A F4 i sent in in July just went pending on August 28, and Snook has that one.

If they did business like this in the private sector, they'd be out of business in no time flat.

Everyone has to wait.  Deal with it.  This isn't a game for those without patience.

DO NOT call the ATF.  It's a waste of time and more often than not it will get your forms put to the bottom of the examiner's stack.

Though the ATF may be (is) evil as an institution, remember that your examiner is just some nice man/woman in WVa trying to make a buck.

(I am not an ATF examiner).

This is not true.

The misinformation on these boards is a serious problem.  Call 10x a day if you want, it will neither speed up nor slow down the processing of your form (although you may irritate Anton).

I have several cans and never exceeded 60 days in waiting. CLEO sign off and item in stock.  I paid in full and got a serial # in return. People often have problems with AAC products and the process. I dont have any AAC.  BTW, gruff voiced Anton can press a button and put your paperwork to the bottom of the stack if you piss him off with excessive calls. Thats what my dealer said. I called once and Anton wasnt happy. Never again. Hes busy reading or smoking I think.

According to my examiner my cards have not been kicked back, she said if I have a common name it sometimes takes longer for the background check. Does anyone know if there is any other reasons this could be happening.

Yeah, I know it just bothered me when my examiner at first told me that my form 4 had been put into problem status. I had only checked once a month and did not contact the examiner until I went into that status. There was some issue with ownership, at first they thought my dealer had transfered it to someone else, but found that it was a clerical error, then the wait on my fingerprints which was no big deal. Mrs. Farris was great through the entire process and was very helpful.
