Anybody heard of TORNADO TECHNOLOGIES and of their current lead time?

http://www.tornado-technologies.com/services.html

I sent 3 22 barrels out to be threaded 6 weeks ago and haven't heard a thing. I called them 2 weeks ago and they have confirmed that the items are in their safe. They may get to it in a few weeks, so I was told.

I like feedback of TORNADO TECHNOLOGIES. Also, any other companies that you know of do a threading service? I need a T/C Contender barrel and a 700 Remington barrel threaded for a 5.56 can.

Thank you!

I've heard good things about Tornado Technologies, all from here.

That said, my business goes to Adco.

Tornado-Tech threads barrels in batches - expect a min 3 month wait.

That said, they're work is impeccable.

I have used both ADCO and Tornado Technologies.

While the wait sucks, the work from both is very good. I have also used a local smith for some threading, which resulted in a destroyed barrel.

So, my advice is to use ADCO or Tornado and if you have to wait, its worth the wait.

I will vouch for the high quality of Tornado Tech's work.  They happen to be about 20 minutes from my house; lucky me I guess...  He has confirmed that he does like-type barrels in batches when possible because he gets the tools set up for them and then runs a bunch through.  I don't know how it works, but he has gotten my stuff done pretty quickly usually.  Mike (owner of TT) has done a few different types of jobs for me and it's easy to tell very quickly that he knows exactly what he's doing when cutting/crowning/threading barrels.  He does other, more common, gunsmithing also; but the threading is his specialty and he is GOOD at it.  The quality of his work is second to none, hands down.  It's too bad it takes awhile to get stuff done for folks who send it in, but I guess that's what happens at a small shop.  He does have one other location that I've never seen, but his Tornado Technologies storefront/ machine shop is pretty small and I've only ever seen Mike, his office gal, Goldie  (very HAWT!), and one other guy working there.

Not that it will help you feel better about waiting, but Goldie handles all the paperwork, transfers, and whatnot; so Mike can spend his time on the machines...

Mike is one of THE nicest guys I've ever met, especially in the firearms industry.  That coupled with the superb quality of his work keep me going back there, even if there's a wait...  In one word, TT is just "awesome".

I've used Mike (Tornado tech) for a handful of jobs; he does a great job but you've got two things working against you:

1) He works in batches

2) He doesn't charge much

That means long wait times.

I think he's been trying to train up new guys, so maybe those wait times will come down.

I sent tornado a ruger MK3 upper and it took almost 3 months.

However I must say when I got it back it was freaking awesome and the work was 2nd to NONE!!

If you have the time use tornado!
