| once you receive your form 1 back on you homemade suppressor, can you have someone else manufacture the can for you ? |

Quoted:
How the hell do you build a can in your garage? Or am I just out of the loop? Some of us have machines, welders, grinders even a dremmel and other tools to make a can with in our garage
I have seen cans that were made with a hack saw, hammer, socket set and a ball bearing, they were heavy compared to a factory made can but they worked. |

| So I have a useless form 1 back in my hands. I have no metal working tools and I'm pretty sure if you walked into a machine shop asking for a silencer build they would call the cops on you. I guess I could put a serial number on a 3 liter bottle and call it good. I should of did a little more research first. |

outlaw38,
Yeah, you did screw up a bit, but all is not lost. You can ask the ATF for a refund if you do not make the silencer. If I were you, I would locate a gun owner with a lathe or access to a lathe and see if you get some help making the parts. As long as you are present, anyone can make the parts as long as you take them home with you at the end of the day. There is a guy on http://www.silencetalk.com that make a decent silencer without a lathe, but I do not recommend that you go that route. Ranb |
