I have never used any liquid medium with a suppressor and am thinking about giving it a try.
Am I correct in that you have to remove the can everytime you want to put more water/gel etc..back in the can??? Or can I just squirt it in muzzle-end with the suppressor installed? |
| I just ran my YHM 5.56 can yesterday for the first time and only ran it wet. I was told by can vets put your medium in the expansion chamber (first chamber by the threads) and work it into the second. I ran water first and it did a good job but only for the first 10 or so rounds. I switched to Wire pulling gell and it works great and wont boil off when you go to rewet. It lasted 3-5 times longer. |

Just be very careful with full power center fire rifle suppressors when you make them wet. If you put too much, allow it to obstruct the bullet path, or put it in un-evenly you can cause cataclysmic pressure that will destroy your tube.
Generally rim fire and center fire pistol suppressors are suggested for use with wet media, and rifle suppressors are generally not supposed to be shot wet. |

This, unless you buy a rifle suppressor that is rated for wet use. Depends on what you have. Oh and always check to see if your bore is clear. |
