You are committing a felony. Give them back to him and file two form 4s. I suggest finding a machinegun dealer to hold your hand.

Wow, personally, I would delete the post and read up on ownership.  Like CombatJack said, you are committing a felony.

Who would give away two $1200 silencers? I went to knob creek and at the entire show I saw one FA556 212.  That may have been a inert display model.  I didn't handle it.  The show gave me the impression that suppressors are less numerous in America than Machine guns.

"icantremember" what the penalty x2 is for a double NFA violation which was admitted to in writing?  Oh yeah, federal pound you in the ass prison...

Either a real question from a ignorant-of-NFA law-person

or a dumb question from a troll...

There was an article a member posted here sometime last winter where some drug dealers ended up with stolen US Army suppressors.  Here's a link that talks about stolen US weapons ending up in the Pakistan tribal belt.

I could see one or two silencers being captured under extremely rare circumstances like when a SOF helicopter goes down or when a sniper team is killed or captured but I'm pretty sure that's going to be rare to the point of near insignifigance.

Obviously the $12000 price tag quoted is insanely high in a region where an AK47 is $60, and a rare AK74U Krinkov goes for around $500.

In the military these items are serial number controlled sensitive items, loss of which can result in loss of rank, even for a staff sergeant if command wants to pursue it.
