I'm looking to get a suppressor for my SCAR.  What are some good options?  i was looking at the AAC SCAR-SD, and it seems a good choice, but I can't see what kind of mount it uses (18T or 51T) and I don't know if I can use this suppressor on my AR's ( I can't see why not, but just in case....)

I'm pretty sure that the SCAR-SD uses the 18 tooth mount, as the 51 tooth had not been developed at the time of testing––and once a part gets tested by the military, it takes an act of god to make an upgrade to it.

The SCAR-SD is basically an M4-2000 with an 18 tooth mount, so unless you already have a mount installed, I'd buy the 2000.

I believe the SCAR/SD is basically the same as the M4/2000, same mounting, If I remember correctly it's the 51-tooth version, the 18-tooth version is the mount for the M4/1000 type cans.  M4/SPR uses a different mount, but is also 51-tooth, not interchangable with the M4/2000 or SCAR/SD but all three use the same ratchet style locking.  The M4/100 uses a spring type lock, so it uses the larger tooth mouth (18-tooth)

The SCAR/SD will work fine on a AR15 with the correct mount.  Check the specs for the M4/2000 and the SCAR/SD, length, weight, dBa rating, I think they are the same.

I have a M4/SPR and love it, but also adding a M4/1000 to my collection as well, for use on my SCAR/FS-2000 and others rifles that won't take my M4/SPR style mounts (these extend back over the barrel a few inches unlike the M4/2000 and M4/1000 mounts).  M4/1000 was a bit cheaper then the M4/2000 so I went the way, the M4/1000 will be my abuse can, the M4/SPR I'll keep for lighter use on my Noveske SPR & Sig-556.

Opps just checked AAC's site... I'm all twisted
the SCAR/SD uses the sprint mount like the M4/1000

M4/1000 & SCAR/SD use the spring mounts 18t the M4/2000 uses the 51t.  and I believe the SCAR/SD and M4/1000 are very close in specs. in dBa ratings its the SCAR/SD then M4/1000 then M4/2000  (high to low)

The reason the SCAR-SD uses the 18-tooth mount is because that is what was submitted for the SCAR rifle trials.  Those trials predate the 51-tooth mount.  If you want an AAC product for a civilian SCAR rifle I recommend the M4-2000.
