i'm about to buy my first can.  i was thinking about going the .22 route first, then maybe another later.  here's what i was wanting to do.  i have an AR, and was wanting to get a .22 lr kit for it, that way it already has a threaded barrel and i wouldn't have to get a new rifle.  will a converted .22 AR with a can work ok?  i would like to get a .22 pistol later that i could use the can on.  anyone know of some .22 pistols with threaded barrels?  which .22 can should i get?  or should i get a can that will work with the 5.56 round on my AR, then just use it for the .22 as well?  (will it work ok?)  any help is appreciated.

Silencerco makes the coolest .22 lr suppressor on the market IMO.  I've heard it head to head against a ton of other cans and it is by far the quietest and it has a very unique patented monolithic baffle stack.  Anyway, check it out and I'm sure you would be happy with it.  On a side note, I don't recommend any .22lr can with a drop in kit.  I'm not sure the rifling on your AR would stablize the bullet well enough to be able to avoid baffle strikes.
