You don't need a permit to own a suppressor.  But living in Houston, you will need a trust or LLC to be done since Houston does not sign off on such items.

You can either do Quicken Willmaker to do a trust, or contact [email protected].  Sean is the go to person in Houston to get a trust done and a good resource of all the dealers in town that can do the transfer for you.  He is also a dealer but I don't think he is doing too many transfers anymore.

I have a buddy in TX who wants to get a suppressor.  He needs a trust done.

Supposedly, the new Harris County DA said during the campaign that she would sign a Form 4.

I also live in North Houston. At this time you will have to do a trust. The problem we have here in Houston is that most of the major dealers don't stock many suppressors. Class 3 dealer on north Shepard street stocks some, but doesn't deal with AAC. Republic arms will order from any manufacter. South Texas tripods up in Spring, has some in stock BUT IS VERY EXPENSIVE. Most of the dealers in Houston want to charge 100.00 to do the paperwork, Nothing but stealing! I recomond Sportsmans Guns out in Conroe, Derick is a great guy, but he doesn't stock. I have stopped using dealers here in Houston. I drive all the way to either Austin or Dallas for mine class 3 dealings.

I went the trust route, definitely the easiest way to get into class 3 stuff.

Most of the title 2 dealers in Houston are overpriced, by a LOT.  I ordered my Osprey from www.major-malfunction.com and am having it transferred to a dealer down here.

Sean Cody did my trust, great guy to work with and one hell of a gun nut. I feel the same as most about the dealers in Houston. Try Talon arms, they have a random slection of cans in stock. Also call NFA investments, Keith stocks and build some nice cans.

Yeah, give Jen a call. She's cool to do business with. She's one of our favorite local sources for cool toys.

Are you self employeed and Incorporated by any chance?  It was pretty easy using your articles of incorporation and cover letter from the state.  Don't have to deal with setting up a trust or anybody signing off.
