hey guys - my suppressors came in to the gun shop today and i brought the mounts home to play with while i wait for the paperwork....  i found that the uzi adapter is very tight on the barrel.  i was able to slip it down about 1/2 way - but i think if i try to move it any further down, it may get stuck.  anyways - it doesnt feel right - so i figured i'd ask here and see if anyone else had this problem - or if its normal and i just need to push it on harder... i clp'd the barrel to try and make it go on easier - but it still is very tight.  i also tried to put it on the original barrel to see if my short barrel was slightly fatter - but it didnt want to go on that one either.   anyways - its a gemtech uzi mount (suppressor is swr - but they were out of uzi mounts...)

The UZI mount for our MK-9K suppressor (as well as the mounting system in our Mossad suppressor) were designed to fit original IMI factory UZI and Mini-UZI submachine gun barrels. These barrels had a Parkerize finish. A number of aftermarket barrels, as well as some refurbished ones, have been painted. Unfortunately, the paint will increase the diameter of the barrel to the point where the barrel diameter is no longer within IMI specifications and there may not be enough clearance. Further, some aftermarket barrels may not be built to strict IMI specifications.

There also is an O-ring in the mount at the general location of the end of a Mini-UZI barrel that helps with centering of the shorter Mini barrel and gas sealing. This will give a feeling of resistance. While it can be removed, we suggest a light grease coating on the barrel.

If you continue to have a problem, feel free to call me at the Custom Shop (208-938-2173) weekdays between 9 and 5 MDT.
