OK, so I am looking at getting a 22 can for several different weapons. I am looking at using it mostly on a Walther P22 and a 11.5 inch AR upper with a spikes adaptor. It might also see use on a Kel-Tec PLR-22, a Savage bolt 22, a Ruger 10-22 but mostly the P22 and AR.

I am looking at several at different price points and am leaning towards the SWR spectre. I like the idea of being able to take it apart to clean it, I have a PS-90 and might want to run it on the 5.7 and have heard good things about this supressor.

My other choices and MSRP are
Gemtech Outback 2 for $325
SWR Spectre for $495
AAC Aviator $395
AAC Pilot $250
YHM Mite $250
YHM Wraith $335 (I like this one for the size on an AR upper but not on pistols)

This will be my only 22 can and will probably see pretty heavy use. I want a nice quiet can and don't mind spending a few extra bucks to get a better one but also would not mind saving a few bucks if I'm not giving much up.

Shoot me your thoughts
TIA

I would go with the Spectre.  If you plan on heavy use a take apart can is the way to go.  Right now I use my Spectre on a 5.5 AR Spikes tactical, SU-22, Beretta Neos and a RUger Charger.  It's a great can!!!  On my AR I have it flush with the handguards.

Banshee,

I just went through the same decision process as you, and I ended up ordering a Spectre. It will be used on about 6 different hosts, and like you, will probably be the only one I buy.

FWIW, you should be able to find any suppressor you choose for well under the MSRP.

Call MajorMalfunciton for a great deal on the Spectre. I am impressed with my spectre so far however i only have about 1000rds through it as I am waiting for my Form 4 approval and i talked my dealer into hitting the range with me to test it out.

I just ordered a checkmate from hearing protection LLC. I like the take apart design and the price and the QD feature

I got a Liberty Kodiak, waiting on my form 4 to go through, but it got good reveiws on the lastest 22lr tests.  It is priced similiar to a Spectra but comes with the disassembly tool.  Check their site out.

Ok, the wraith looks odd, and is too tall for the factory sights, but it really works well...

Sorry for the sound quality of this, but the baby was sleeping upstairs and I didn't want to wake her so I was wispering....the first round is super sonic, the next sub sonic, the next the real light aquilla stuff;

Yeah, I have had quotes from a local dealer for $400 and a guy on here for $375 for the Spectre and think this is the way I am going to go but wanted some other input. Oh, I forgot to mention in the original post that I will be using it on a GSG 5PK that I am going to be SBRing then too.

Thanks for the responces so far guys...keep 'em coming!

If it's going to get heavy use, and since you're on Arfcom i assume it is, it MUST BE USER SERVICEABLE. I got a Spectre. My friends TAC-65 seems like quality goods, too.

I was just wondering about the Outback II-it doesn't look like it's user serviceable and that's not mentioned on Gemtech's page for that product, but you never know...  Just to be clear, the Outback II is NOT user serviceable, right?  Can't be disassembled for cleaning and so on...right?

The Spectre dominates due to durability, sound reduction, and you can take the thing apart to clean.

Spectre.  For heavy use nothing else on your list even comes close to the Spectre.
