After several hundred rounds, the trigger reset becomes gritty and unreliable.  Cleaning the bolt and trigger mechanism restores functionality.  The pistol has a match trigger, and was used for bullseye shooting for some time.

Is it normal to need to clean this often when suppressing this pistol?  This pistol runs forever without the suppressor.  I know a can blows crud back into the action, but can I tweak the gun so it runs longer before needing cleaning?

How long do you go between cleanings on your MkII/III?

I used to go 1100 rounds between cleanings (two bulk packs) and it was still running fine.  Now I tend to clean it every 300-500, so your experience sounds fairly regular to me.  Suppressed weapons always get dirty faster.

I share the same experience.  Ive got a stainless MKIII that was cut/threaded by ADCO that i use with a spectre and it tends to start choking up between 300-500 rounds in....a little wipe down and re-oiling makes it keep going though for mine as well..

Thanks guys.  Sounds like we should just deal with it.

Shooting suppressed makes your firearms dirty, 22LR is so dirty that it probably quadruples the effects.  I know you are exaggerating when you say the pistol runs forever without the suppressor.  Trying dry lubricant may help you some.

Aerosol cleaners such as Gun Scrubber are your friend.

Thanks for the feedback.  Forever may be an exaggeration, but I shoot thousands of rounds between cleanings with my unsuppressed MKII.  I'll try some dry lube next.

i made a blast shield out of an aluminum can and that helps a whole lot since it blocks a lot (not all) of the crud going into the trigger area.

Thanks, I'll try that.
