Has anyone here used their .22 LR  rated suppressor on a 17 HM2 rifle?

Yes, I know it won't be as quiet as a can designed for the 17.  Yes, I know there are cans out there that are rated for 5.7 and 17 HMR.

The pressures for HM2 are similar to those of .22 LR.   Other than taking that into consideration, are there any other safety aspects that would make this a dangerous proposition?

Me and a friend were just talking about this today. I've got a YHM Mite coming but am afraid to shoot 17m2 through it. So we're in the same boat.

ANYBODY HAVE AN ANSWER???????

Check w/ your suppressor manufacturer.  I have a YHM Mite and it is rated for .17 HMR / HM2 ( called and confirmed w/ YHM), but that's it.  No 22 mag, no 22 Hornet... too much pressure.   So, I thought before I get a .17 cal barrel threaded I want to know what it would sound like w/ my Mite.   I used hyper velocity 22 cal(still less FPS than a .17HMR) w/ my suppressor and decided it wasn't worth trying to suppress a .17 HMR.    Sounded like almost no suppression with the sonic crack!!

I asked this question about the 17 hmr out of a mite.  I emailed yhm and they said the 17 hmr was good to go.  But read in this thread because things get a little confusing.

I metered a bunch of 22 cans rated for 17HMR.  It will be in the new review that comes out in March.
