I have a Noveske 14.5" w/Vortex flash hider. What, if any, suppressors are available for use with the Vortex? Thanks much.

Fischer.

However, I would not select the can based solely on what will work with your pinned-on FS.  That makes no sense to me.  Figure out the best can for your purposes and then figure out how to make that happen.  So what if you spend a little money getting the mount changed if you end up with the better suppressor.

YMMV.

Well I usually just shoot up random objects and what not. I didn't need the most top of the line suppressor, just something to quite it down some. I looked for Fischer but my search didnt bring up anything, can you be more specific please?

ETA: I should also say I dont want crap and it would be awesome to get one that I can disassemble and clean as well.

You do not need to take the rifle can apart to clean it.

I meant Fisher.  Sorry about the spelling.

Fisher

The can is louder, heavier, more expensive and (IMHO) not constructed as well (in terms of welding and materials) as other cans.

Buy once, cry once.

Yea I see your point about the Fisher. What would you suggest for someone just getting into suppressors? I need something that has a QD mount and I would like it to be able to have the QD flash hider long enough so I can have it pinned and not have to get another tax stamp for my 14.5" barrel. Thanks for all your help.

I seen the YHM, is it any good? It doesn't give the length of the flash hider.

YHM's a great can, and should bring a 14.5" barrel to over legal length.

Thanks for the reply. Now for another dumb one. Is it a form 3 or form 4 that I need to fill out? Ive seen both on here and I read the stickies but the only relevant thing I seen was the new address to send them too.

Yours will be on a Form 4, though it may have to go to your dealer on a form 3 if he doesn't have one.
The first step is to find a dealer, preferably one who has the can you want in stock.  The dealer should fill out the form 4 and walk you through the process from there.  Where in TX are you?

ETA: You could also go with Gemtech or AAC or Ops or several others, but if you just want something decent and not looking to spend top dollar on max suppression, I think you can't go wrong with YHM.

Right. I just want something decent to quite it down some when I'm out shooting on my in laws property. I'm in Conroe and Ive been to all the local shops here and no one carries suppressors. I seem to remember someone in the Spring area but I cant remember the name.

I picked up my YHM Phantom this past weekend. I have the QD mount in my hand. It is 3-1/8' long for the 7.62 mount and 2-5/8" for the 5.56 mount. Just got done shooting the .308 on a Thompson Center Encore. Sounds like a loud .22LR.

I will shoot the .223 through it tomorrow.
