I have a .22 suppressor purchase underway, an AAC Pilot...waiting on the BATFE. I intend to do a barrel swap for my 10/22 and my Buckmark, but I am thinking about having my 77/22 factory barrel threaded.  It is a nice polished blue barrelled action with a wood stock.  I want it to maintain that clean factory look when it is not wearing the suppressor.  I know there are companies out there that thread barrels and fit them with a thread protector that mates so smoothly that you can hardly see the modification without a very close inspection.  But for the life of me, I can't think where I have seen that this work can be done.  Any suggestions?   Thanks!

There are a number of companies that will thread your barrel:

1) Gemtech - We can do the work in our Custom Shop
2) ADCO
3) Tornado Technologies
4) Aquila Firearms

My recommendation would be to contact the manufacturer of your suppressor and see who they recommend. That way, if there are any issues with alignment you should be covered by their warranty because you used their recommended barrel threading service.

Tornado Technologies is where AAC sent me.  Mike seems to be a really nice guy, and I'm hoping to see my rifle soon.

+1 on Mike at Tornado Technologies. His work is top notch. I will use him again for my threading needs. He threaded a ruger mkIII barrel and you cannot tell where the protector starts, super clean.
