Guys (and gals);

I don't know whether or not this is the right forum for this topic, but here goes.  I'll move it if necessary.

Anyhoo...due to the Great State of Missouri now allowing civilians to own suppressors, I must have one.  I already have my C&R license.  Now the big question is what to get?  I have a 5.56 SBR on hand with a 10.5" barrel.  That limits my options to only muzzle mounted cans AFAIK.  There is the Gemtech HALO, and the Knights NT4.  Maybe a Surefire FA556A?  I don't think anything from Ops will fit the 10.5" barrel.

So...lay your wisdom upon me, please.  What do you think is my best option?

Don't discount the YHM SS Phantom, it's a great suppressor for it's price but it's not a Surefire.  Hang out in the suppressor forum for a while and you'll see plenty of opinions.

Isn't the SS Phantom quiter than the SF?

It is in my experience.  The SureFire is about the last can you'd see me buying; loud and way overpriced.

That's what I thought. Paying for the name & bragging rights I reckon. Not that SF makes anything that isn't quality but why pay the prices for their cans if they aren't the quietest on the block. Can't beat their lights though. A partner at work just picked up his YHM SS & it is very nice for the price-built like a tank. Great competition for our AAC's.

The MO hometown forum has been fielding quite a few of these questions and there is a dedicated forum for suppressors under the armory tab.

I went with the Surefire 556-212 for my 10.5's.

Ah, I did not know about the "armory" section.  Sorry for not posting there.

Surefire has a good reputation indeed.
