Anybody know where I can land a fixed barrel adapter for a .45 Impulse IIa (non-carbon version)?

Once the paperwork clears ATF, I will have two recoil boosters and only need one. Could the spring be removed and one of them modified into a fixed barrel adapter?

Any help is appreciated in advance. Not too worried about paying retail type prices.

Call Larry at CCF.
IIRC, the only fixed barrel adapter he makes is a 9mm 1/2-28 for the Berettas

Well...I emailed him before I posted here. It...didn't go very well. I'm not even sure I understood his response. I replied for clarification, but never heard back. I don't really expect to, either.

What about removing the spring from a booster (i'm getting two) and fixing the ends together? I'm spitballing here, I'd have to get help from a machinist I suppose.

ETA: Can boosters/mounts be ordered from overseas? Or are there import laws against the accessories? I'd have no problem ordering from B&T if they'd do business with me, assuming its legal of course, and they had what I needed.

Yes

All it takes is a $0.50 chunk of Al tubing or a $0.25 chunk of steel tubing.

Thanks, I kind of thought that. Something along the lines of welding a spacer equal to the length of the spring when compressed?

I suppose the next question then is, do I need a class 2 manufacturer to do it for me, or does the booster not count as NFA on it's own?

If anybody has more specific instructions, I'm all ears.

No welding involved. The spacer is about .020"-.030" longer than the measured distance between the bottom of the booster end cap and the front of the booster (space where the spring sits w/ the end cap tight)

The booster is not NFA.

You do need someone w/ a lathe.

It's just a simple spacer.

The ID of the spacer should match the OD of the piston.

It should take all of 2 minutes to make, including centering in a 4jaw
