Has anyone fired a Gemtech Oasis? How does it compair to the other 22lr cans. I always liked the integral MKII but I did not want to spend the $$$ on a Amphibian. I also missed out on the SWR integral. All the others seemed a bit long.
Or would I be better sticking my SWR Warlock on a threadded MKII barrel?
Thanks

I've shot one side by side with the AWC integral, and I must say that the Gemtech feels substantially lighter, but was definitely the louder of the pair. Unfortunately, that's the only one I've compared it to.

I shot one a few weeks ago and must say that I was impressed!  Although I have no issues with my P22 & Outback II combo, I did feel the Oasis was noticeably quieter and an overall pleasure to shoot.  Perhaps they are the same - I don't know and truly don't care to put them on a meter - all I know is that it was quiet, pleasant to shoot, accurate and would fit in a standard holster.  Who could ask for more?

I "need" another suppressed .22 like I "need" another speeding ticket - but I'm leaning toward one of those for my Christmas list.

Hope this helps.

I've shot a few, and really like them. My ears arent good enough to tell any difference, but I've never heard a "loud" .22LR suppressor.  An added bonus is not having to buy subsonic ammo, as the oasis keeps the rounds subsonic.

Oh I have. haha.

The little wet .22lr cans are loud dry.  I have one that is 7/8" OD by 3.2" OAL.  It's loud enough dry to be borderline painfully loud, but wet, it's quiet enough for the backyard.

Not gonna win any contests against a 6"x1" unit though. (obviously the volume of that larger unit is  more than 3 times that of the smaller.)

oh yeah... obviously it's on a pistol or it wouldn't be that loud dry- (~2.34" barreled beretta 21).

I really like my oasis and oasis-R. I can't tell a difference from other cans that I've shot against on the range. It is defiantly the lightest combo out of them all.

I just got in a couple of the Gemtech Oasis-RD's. I'm down to one now being that i had to have one. I fired a few rounds to test it out...very nice!

I topped it with a Aimpoint 9000SC2X.

The above post could describe my exact situation. I have both the Amphibian and the Oasis, but no other suppressors.

I started a post a few months ago about my observations, but apparently the information was useless since I (1) didn't provide detailed sound measurements using a very expensive equipment, and (2) didn't provided a table of velocity measurements for a variety of .22LR rounds.

But, to answer your question, I would save up for an Amphibian. It is noticeably quieter, and noticeably heavier, than the Oasis.
