| So Im thinking about getting a 9mm can for both my pistols and a 9mm AR15 Im going to be building up. I Like the YHM wraith for the price and the good things I have heard about it. Now what Im wondering, will the Wraith cycle a Glock or a Sig reliably? I know they dont have the Nielsen device that helps cycle pistols like most cans do, but on the website it says the Wraith will work with most handguns, are these the "most" that will work, or the "some" that will not?? Thanks for any help/info. |

I've got a 9mm Wraith-- while I know it will cycle my Beretta 92, I would love for it to be able to cycle my Springfield XD 9mm Tactical. I am in the same boat as you. I wonder if putting a lighter recoil spring would help it to cycle reliably on Glock/XD types? Anyone with any experience? |

I got to try a Wraith on a Glock 17 last night and it did NOT cycle. It didn't even extract the spent case enough to stovepipe, which I guess is a good thing. It basically made it a single shot. I tried the thread-on and QD versions. Another 9mm can w/ a Nielsen functioned flawlessly on the same gun, so I suspect the Cobra would work well on the Glock. Unfortunately we didn't have one of those. We were shooting CCI 147g RNFP subsonics. |
And the Wraith was quite a bit louder. I'm uploading the video right now. I'll post it in a new thread in a little while. |
| Ok forgive my Noob'ness (Im trying to learn) Can you use a can with a Nielson device on a fixed barrel gun like a 9mm AR15?? Or do they make adapters to fit a non-nielson equiped can to a nielson type device?? Basically is there any can out there that I can use on a carbine AND a pistol?? Pretty much the only way I can get the wife to sign off on it (she's worse than the ATF) is if I can Prove its practicality, like the fact I could use it on multiple weapons. |
Depends on the can... I'll try to explain The YHM Cobra has a "built-in" Nielson device. The Trinity (Gemtech) and the Trident (SWR) have different adapters that you can buy for your particular purpose. Since I have a trident, I'll speak only to that. SWR sells a regular thread adapter that I got for use with my AR ($65 on the website), a 3 lug quick detach adapter (you have to have a 3 lug barrel), and a LCD (Nielson) adapter for use with non-fixed barrels. I shoot mine on a Glock sometimes so I also bought the LCD adapter. You simply unscrew one and screw in another. Takes about 5 seconds. THe 3 lug and the LCD adapter list for $125 of SWR's site. Like I said, that's what I have so I can't speak for the others. Be sure and check out the new video I just posted on the suppressor forum with video of the Wraith (non nielson can) side by side with a Trident. |
