| Does anyone know what these are selling for? Does AAC offer a 5.56 flash hider capable of holding this can like YHM? I've got a cyclone know, but how does the SD can compare to the Cyclone and the YHM can? If you can't tell I'm debating between the 2 cans, I want a quick detatch! |
Ok I know price will very and I'm not going off on a tangit but this seems to be one of the few cans there must be alot of room for profit on because no one will post what the range is in price! |

That is due to cost to the dealer. If the dealer buys multiple cans at once they get a better deal. If they are a stocking dealer, they get a better price. So, check the web page and then check with a local dealer or contact Bookhound and get a feel for the price. But, what is a few dollars if you get what you want, rather than not and save a few bucks. |

I have one ordered, and paid for but don't actually have one. I ordered it months ago and am waiting on the new version introduced at the SHOT show. Appearently they aren't actually out on the market yet. To the best of my knowlege, the new version of the 7.62SD uses the same flash suppressor mount as the old (pre-SHOT show) M4-2000 only with a bigger, .30 hole in it. If I am right about this, you could put it on a 5.56 rifle just as easily as a .30 rifle. The NEW M4-2000 uses a new and different flash suppressor, again, as I understand it. So you would need to buy the OLD M4-2000 mounts. I own an M4-2000 and have a half dozen rifles equipped with the flash suppressor/mount if I wanted to use the 7.62SD on one of them instead of the m4-2000. As to price, I don't know. The price actually went down from last year. I ordered mine not knowing that they were going to announce a new one the next week at the SHOT show. I paid $9** something. The dealer (Bookhound) advised me that the price went down and he owed me a refund. I already owed him money for flash suppressor/mounts so we haven't ever come up with a concrete price yet. |

No problem attaching it to a 5.56. They make a few different thread sizes, just get the right mount. I'm assuming 1/2x28" for your 5.56. I am thinking of getting a 762SD also down the road. They are coming out with a M14/M1A mount also in the future. Sweet, one .30 can and use it on a bolt gun, AR15, and M1A. |
Yep. For my AR10s, I got the thread for .30 cal. I can't remember what it is. I also picked up a mount for my M15A4 rifle and carbine threaded at 1/2x28. I use the 762 SD on it as well as on the AR10s. However, I do have an M4 1000 enroute because that 762 SD is a big mofo hanging on that carbine that I use for home defense. |
