| im looking for a can for my glock 17 and my first choice was a AAC evolution but ive been doing some looking around and i noticed that alot of other brands are much cheaper. are AAC worth the price? and are there anyother suppressors i should consider? |
It's nearly impossible to answer a question as vague as that. No offense intended, but it's simply too subjective. The AAC is a great can for my applications, but none of them are Glocks. I use mine on a Sig and an HK, both of which use the Browning style cycling process. The AAC is very light, very strong, and has an integrated Nielsen device instead of an external attachment. It is very quiet. Is it ideal for all situations? Certainly not. If price is your primary factor, there are other cans that offer many of the same features for less money. In my subjective opinion, the Gemtech Trinity that my coworker owns does 90% of what my Evo does for a lot less money. In our non scientific test of standing next to each other and shooting, the edge goes to the Evo as the quieter can, but they are both pretty quiet. I own an AAC, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Gemtech or Ops Inc. You should buy based on the platform and your needs, and not because someone says it is 'the best' or most expensive. Looks like you have some research to do. |
I have an EVO 9 and its great. I really think you need to go listen to one and make your judgements then. |

YMMV. Don't always go for the "cheap" can. They make good stuff but be carefull with what people tell you is the "quietist" or what "test data" some may have on certain cans- often there is an agenda. In the end, test some cans with your own ears and go with what you like. |
