Looking for some load data for a 308 168gr subsonic load that will cycle the action on an AR-10. Currently using Trail Boss at about 8 gr, good quiet load, but it just unlocks the action, wont cycle. Any ideas? Ed |
You may want to stop shooting boat tails in there, they are not made to stabilize at subsonic speeds. As one of the original developers of the load using trailboss I would be hesitant using them suppressed. I have shot thousands of rounds using 180gr round nose flat base and I have never had a unstable one, however the boat tails are a diffrent story . The adj gas block will be the only way it will cycle, you may be able to get it to work with reduced capacity cases but they will be hard to find in quanity, and then you still may not have enough pressure for it to cycle. In short get a adj gas block and you should be good to go:D |
