K, I'm a total noob in this department, but being a typical firearm enthusiast, I want a silencer. I understand a some/most of the basics, but would like to have a few things confirmed/answered. 1. Assumption: the paperwork you do is only good for ONE silencer- it is not a one time deal like a license Is that correct? 2. Assumption: when buying a used firearm from a private party that has a suppressor, you need to do the paperwork/transfer info as if you were buying it from a dealer. |

From a dealer there would be aplicable sales tax and form 4473 involved from a private individual there would not. If buying from a government agency it is done on a form 5 no tax. Also being a newbie, and since we don't know where you are from, not in your profile there can be state laws against what items you want to buy. |
