Ok, I have decided I want a can. After I get all the paperwork completed I "plan" to "roll" my own, so I need some advise, up front, on the following details:

ETA Weapon will be 5.56 m4orgery w/ 14.5'w/ pined FH can mod if ness.

Are there any GOOD plans that work if made correctly?
Is it illegal to get these plans?
Has somone other than Gorilla done a "how to"?
Does BATF have a problem a vendor making 80% complete parts for the can?

I'm sure that I need other info but this is a start.
Addtional info:
I have the techincal skills and the equipment to make all of the parts(machinist).
I have material avail. for the project, as well as the tooling.
I like being able to call it "my own".
For Bookhound...I live I Buford, GA and would like to go
shoot w/ you guys sometime.

"Silencers, History and Performance" Has some good design schematics of classis as well as modern designs.

Is it illegal to get these plans?
No, since the plans themselves cannot provide a reduction in sound.

I don't know.

I can't see how they would as long as the baffles cannot work in a 80% condition. For clarification I would contact the BATFE.

Good luck, and have fun.

Remember that you cannot have multiple baffle stacks for the same can since the BATFE consideres baffles "silencers" and having more than those required for your registered design would constitute a unregistered silencer.
