Im gonna be in the market for a 22lr suppressor soon and Im leaning towards the outback II.  Any first hand users care to sound off?  Gemtech claims "no need to dissassemble and clean", ture, or not?
I plan of using this can for an MKIII and a 10/22 both with tac sol barrels, so there will be a lot of screwing and unscrewing, hence the nod for the Ti threads.

TIA

I like mine a lot.  Very lite, very quiet with the right ammo.

I really would like to be able to disassemble and clean mine from time to time.  Gemtech says you don't need to do that.  I guess they know more about it than I do....

I would buy another Outback2 without hesitation.....

I like mine but don't own any other cans.  I'm thinking of picking up an AAC just to compare the two but I doubt very seriously that the extra cost of the AAc will be justified for my purposes.

Mine's still pretty new.  I alternate it between the two guns below and I'd say I have a combined 500 rounds through it thus far.

FWIW, I have an original Outback (not the II), which has a slightly different baffle stack. I have put untold thousands of rounds through it in the last five years -- 5k? 10k? -- and I swear it is still as quiet as it was when new. It's also a sealed can and I have never cleaned it: If I hear any crap rattling around in there, I shake it out or blow it out with compressed air. Otherwise, I treat it like the muffler on my car (and clean it as often).

As always, YMMV.

I have an original Outback that I had upgraded to the 'II' baffle stack (same as the discontinued Vortex2) and am very pleased with it's performance.  It has been on and off various barrels scores of times and I haven't experienced any issues with the threads whatsoever.

just my .02¢

I like mine. With a little CCF suppressor coolant & Lapua subs it's silly grin  quiet.

I probably have 2k rounds through mine.  It weighs 3.4oz now.

Nice pictures!  Does your Marvel conversion blow crap back at you?  My friends really threw stuff back in my face.  He quit using it and got a Browning instead.

Actually it does throw a bit back but I've gotten used to it.  It bothered me the very first time I shot it but I don't even notice it now.  I believe there are ways to try to seal it off a bit but I haven't really looked into it.

The Marvel kit is designed to fit a variety of frames so the ejector cut is made wide to clear, the series 80 cut is also there if you need it or not.

You can plug these channels a bit with silcone or put some electrical tape over the back where the gook exits.

Not that I can tell.  This weekend I'll shoot it next to a new one and if there's a difference, I'll post it.  Otherwise no news is good news.  I think you REALLY have to plug these up for noise to increase.  It's all about turbulence.....

Getting a sound decrease has to relate to reduction in volume.  This could be a serious issue with the new crop of 5x1" suppressors, but still, you should have to cut the volume by 1/3 or more to result in a serious performance loss.  That could be 10,000-15,000 + rounds.

As these get smaller I think the problem could get worse, although pressure through the system should increas too, and that means more crap should get blown out.
