It varies depending on the task.  The CAR15's were used allot to my understanding.

They used a number of different things.  For subguns, they used MACs, Swede K/Port Said's, Uzi's and I believe the S&W 76 and M3/M3A1 also came into play.  Danish Madsens may also have been used - I know the CIA used sterilized Madsens on occasion overseas (a friend of mine has two former CIA Madsens, consecutively serial numbered upon return to the US).

The lucky ones got to use Stoner 63's.

P.S. I REALLY REALLY want one! No way I'm paying 60k+ for one though.

Justin,
I was about to post:

Once upon a time in a land far away the SEAL's used cut-down Stoner 63's.

I have heard that they also used plain old M1 Carbines.

I'm no expert, but I believe I recall from my readings that it was the MAC and Uzi, and even the Thompson back in Viet Nam.

Monel, a rather good book on UDT and Navy SEAL weaponry is Special Weapons, Special Warfare by Kevin Dockery. It covers weapons from pistols to assault rifles.

The part two, Special Weapons, Special Warfare: Radid Fire Weapons of the SEALs and UDT has finally been released it appears, it covers machineguns and possibly other support weapons.

SEALs used MACs while they were manufactured by Ingram.  When Cobray bought the rights, quality went down and the SEALs dropped them.
