With the stock grips I always end up holding the grip low with the trigger on my second finger joint, which interferes with accuracy. I thought the Ergo, with the backstrap and perhaps some decent palm swells, might work better for big hands. Has anyone tried it and can comment? Also, is it durable?

Thanks.

I had one of the HK-style grips from Bushmaster, and it was one hell of an improvement! Trigger finger placement was much better, and it was just more comfortable. While i didn't test it for durability, it seemed to be pretty stout.

I have Ergo grips on both my AR's and they are a huge improvement over the standard grips- much more comfortable for extended periods. They have held up well, though they had a tendency to loosen up initially due to leverage on the extended backstrap- just tighten them down more.

Sounds like you have large hands.  That is not a problem that I have, but my favorite grip on the AR-15 is the Hogue grip.  These are just a little larger than the A2 grip and seem to put my hands where they belong for me with no problems or complaints!

I put the grip from Sierra Precision on my AR15 and like it.
