[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Non raised mag fence?

I'm thinking about getting a preban SP1. These are slab side, with no raised mag fence.

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever "accidently" hit the mag release on one of these Colt lowers and dropped the mag out?

Or was the raised fence just a good idea, but was never really a problem?

It's really just a cosmetic thing. The mag fence doesn't protect the mag button all that much and I don't think it terribly likely that you'll find yourself in a situation where the mag button might be hit by something.
